View Full Version : How to remove dings from Butts?

07-13-2003, 01:32 AM
I noticed that my cue has a few small dings in the finish part of the butt. I was wondering if anyone knew of a procedure to remove these marks? I know the basics of shafts, but the butt is obviously sealed with a laquer type coating. The cue is not that bad that a refinishing by a professional is needed yet. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I see nothing you can do until you have it refinished. They'll remove them if possible depending how deep the ding go. I wouldn't worry about them till your ready to send it in. The process is some what the same. They'll need to swell them out. South West uses a hot glue gun odviously one thats not used with glue and a wet rag to swell them out. This can't be done without first removing the finish coat.

Hope this helped.
