Greetings, Mike. This is interesting news. I wonder whether Viking will be sponsoring additional 8-Ball events of this kind. You don't say what rules will be used in the two Ohio tournaments--I prefer the BCA (World Standardized) 8-Ball rules. Regards--D.M.

Rules ? I am not sure which rules we will be using for these events. The time frame for a race to 7 in 8-ball can be much longer than 9-ball. For this reason we may use express 8-ball rules. Something like 9-ball rules only call pocket and the 8 has to go in last. With these rules we would play if you scratch on the break it's Ball In Hand anywhere on the table. 8 on the snap, you win, if you scratch, you lose. The big question is whether or not we will play call shot on every ball. Not kisses or banks, just the pocket it is intended for.

I have used these rules in the past for 8-ball team events. They seem to go over pretty well and it helps speed up the games.

Those are mostlikely what the rules will be.
