If all rape seed is GM , every time you plant a seed , you will have to pay . Even if the seed you plant is a seed that you yourself have grown .

IMO , you should not be able to patent any living thing , not just 'higher' life forms .

No, we must promote progress. Patents allow companies to profit off of advances. Without that there will be no progress on genetics. Some of the issues raise some concerns, but those can be worked out. The world is and will be a better place w/ biotech.
