I met and talked with him at The Sports Authority in Las Vegas in the early 90's. A genuinely nice man.

Yes Ken,

It is a sad day. He was one heck of an actor and not to mention tap dancer. He had a love for the public and was able to portray this throughout his career. The camera loved him and I will miss him. My heart goes out to his family too. A great man. The Cotton Club was a must see film.

He did have a way about him that made you like and respect him. What a talent. He could do it all. He and Sammy are having one heck of a show-down about now. He will be missed.
