The pool hall that I play out of recently aquired a 10x5 snooker table, and many of the regulars have fallen in love with it. However, we are unsure of some rules...
1) Must you hit a rail? (other than on the break)
2) Must you call any pockets?
3) When can you nominate a free ball, and what exactly does this mean?
4) What are the incoming players options after a foul?
We want to remain consistent with the international snooker rules, not the american snooker rules.

Forget snooker. Play golf on it. It's 10 times a better game.
1) Must you hit a rail? (other than on the break)
>> You dont have to hit a rail, ever. Even on the break.
2) Must you call any pockets? >>> No.
3) When can you nominate a free ball, and what exactly does this mean?
The free ball rule comes into play when your oppopnenet makes a foul and leaves you snookered. It means you can nominate any other ball as the ball 'on '. Read the rules above . If its not clear , I will do a thread on the "free ball 'situation .[ might just do that anyway , Q ]
4) What are the incoming players options after a foul?
Play yourself or let your opponent play again. Or if snookered , you may choose a free ball .
