I saw one gas line that was two blocks long and another about 20 cars long on the Friday of the Great Blackout. Lines seem back to normal now though.

$2 a gallon and still short supply? Wow! I've been griping because it's up to $1.41 around here. Pisses me off that it's always a dime cheaper in OKC.

I'd need a second job to afford the drive across Arizona, I think.

I bought gas at $2.11 per gallon at 4 AM this morning. I had to wait about 15 minutes, not bad. You can get gas it just takes time. The trucks from Tucson take time to supply. It appears a station has gas about every other day.

I'll be glad when the pipe line is fully tested. Being there at 4 AM to beat the traffic isn't my idea of fun. LOL I need a first job in able to afford to go anywhere!

Rod did i read right that a lot of the gas comes toyou from here ? If so why the trouble, we have no lines. High prices sure, but no lines. I was never aware that Arizona had a supply problem and why no one ever did anything about it. I mean these companys even smell a nickel profit and they are all over it like white on rice.

Hopster,

The gas primarily comes from two lines. One out of Texas and one from California.

What you read, was talking about rural areas, in this case Northeastern Arizona. Kingman as I recall, got there gas from Vegas.

The just repaired Texas line should be operational by this weekend. I hope the people here make note of the stations that were price gouging. That is nothing short of a pool hustler or anyone taking money from an easy mark. We are the victims, since we are down why not give us a jab!

Ok, thanks Rod. As far as the gouging goes, people should just boycott the hell out of the stations that were doing it. It would probably be inconvenient for the folks who live close to the offending stations but its the only way people have to send out a message to them that they arent going to take it. I can see them making a little extra for themselves, sure. But to out and out rob people that are your bread and butter is just plain stupid. The lure of the quick score strikes again. Sad.

PHOENIX (AP) An idled gasoline pipeline that is causing fuel shortages throughout Phoenix failed one of two tests needed to reopen it, the owner of the line said Wednesday.
However, the pipeline still is expected to be back in operation and running at full capacity by the weekend, said Rick Rainey, a spokesman for Kinder Morgan Energy Partners of Houston.

You got that right Q, there are some real prize packages out here.
I got so many stories about wacky stuff its unreal. One day i will put them all down in a book. lol
There was this one kid i worked with years ago named Bobby, good guy, italian kid from conn.
Anyway, this guy liked to drink as much as i did and when you put the two of us together it was like throwing a match onto gasoline. There was bound to be an explosion. So anyway one night after the shift were sitting in the bar at the Horseshoe putting a few away and this guy disapears after about 2 hours or whatever it was. Next day he dont show for work and i get a call that he got locked up. So i called to see if i could make bail for him but he was already out. What he did was go to the four queens and started drinking crown royal and got out of hand and got thrown out of there. Next he stops in the gold spike, a real toilet . In there he starts playing 21 and gets into a beef with the floor man and knocks a 21 table over, they chase him but cant catch him. lol
Next he gets into a beef with some guy riding a bicycle and they start fighting and they both get hit by a car. The cops come and lock the two of them up. lol
So he gets fired from the joint we are both in, the Fremont and he gets a job at the Hoseshoe. So hes there for about 6 months and he gets locked up again. The crazy SOB takes a stack of greens and sticks them in his pocket, thats $500. So what does he do ? Goes on break and goes into the sports book and starts making bets using the chips on his break in uniform !!! lolol
Needless to say they called the pit and arrested him on the spot. Got probation or something.
But youre right, there are a lot of nut casesin this business.

Thanks Keith,

I appreciate the thought. Yep will be up and running pretty soon. Mix up a little JB Weld, a patch or two, maybe a WB hard tip for a plug and wal-la she's up and running! /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

All I'm doing is making sure I have enough gas for Monday and I don't go anywhere unless it is necessary.

When i worked in the Playboy Club , we had a pool table in the break room. Once , I'm playing Bob and we go dubble or nothing . I'm up $4 and he wants to go again , but I say we havent got time .Anyway ,we play 3 balls and the 8 for the cash and if he loses he has to stick his ass out the window [ we are 4 floors up ]. He loses , does the deed and everybody was rolling about.
Next day we come into work and there is a staff meeting. the Manager ; " There has been a complaint from the Dorchester hotel .The grandmother of Price H. says she saw someones ass sticking out the window last night and it wasnt pretty . I dont want to know who did it but Bob, cut it out !" /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good thing I don't need gas. As I understand it is still available but the price is up. Actually there are no waiting lines at a few places but the gas is $3 a gallon. I'll wait, I just stay at home and let this week ride out.

On another note the western line went down for a few hours, a truck fell on the line near the LA area, so that won't help. The Texas line failed a test Wednesday near where it broke in the begining. Maybe it will be better next week. The only way it will though is get gas flowing by the weekend. I read it flows rather slow, so it might take 14 hours to get here from Tucson. OK I'm gassed out about gas.
