They've been showing "Young Frankenstein" on HBO uncut/uncensored now for a couple weeks.

And who can forget the scene with Gene Hackman as he pours hot soup into Peter Boyle's lap and then breaking the mug of wine on the toast?

Barbara~~~putting on the Ritz...

Barbara - who can forget Teri Garr sitting at the dinner table talking about the size of the monster and will his,(I can't remember her term for it), member be just as oversized. She said it with such a straight face.

DG - this is one of the best spoofs ever.

Mel Brooks was a genius at this kind of comedy!!!

I think she used the term, um, wanger? No, that's not it.

Oh well!! Just another excuse to sit through watching it again!!

Rod,

I used to have an "Abigail" in my tour and every time she would sign up to play and I'd be writing her name down I'd be saying, "Abby something, Abby normal.."

I'm sure she was pretty much sick of that phrase, but I always chuckled at it! /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Or lighting the cigar! That movie is really a classic. I didn't notice it on HBO, some how I think it's different here than there.

That seems surprising coming from a psychologist. I don't know if I want to take your ink blot tests now. I'm not feeling comfortable with you.

What amazed me about this movie, was that all the laboratory equipment was from the original Frankenstein movie with Karloff. It was stored away in a garage by the guy who did the special effects. Amazing that it survived all those years.

DG - who's a fan of Mel Brooks
