Mike,

Snookers is very nice, clean room with some fine 9-foot Robertson tables. I always like it when the Viking tour comes through because they recover the tables /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif. It's in a part of town where crime is almost nonexistent and a lot of lodging nearby at whatever price you care to pay.

I've been lucky enough to see 2 Viking events there. IIRC I watched Basavitch come back from a 6-2 deficit to run 5 racks on Putnam to win a match. I also watched Mike Janis lay a 7-2 whupping on some poor soul one afternoon despite his duties as TD. In case anyone doesn't know, Mike plays pretty sporty.

OK. Now can you rig a cue raffle so I can win one for a change? /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Besides the $30 entry fee, is there any other fees that needs to be paid, like tour fee etc....

Wally, in addition to what you mentioned about the whoop-ass. I also spanked Chris Bartrum 7-0 in that event. It was one of my greatest career highlights. I never beat that lock artist before then and he has never beat me since.

Mike,

It was nice to have met you in Columbus. Who came in first and second in the 8-ball tourney there in Columbus? Thanks in advance for the info.

The winner of the Cue Raffle was .........

Bruce Cambel

Top 8 finishers in the 8-ball event are as follows

1. Hunter Lombardo $820
2. Butch Poe $580
3. Eric Durbin $390
4. Roy Thomas $24400
5. Troy Jones $100
6. Chris Knoth $100
7. Howard Vickery $50
8. Gary huggins $50

Notes: The top 2 finishers, Butch & Hunter are both left handed players. Do left handed players play better 8-ball than 9-ball? Is it something to do with position or something about the side of the brain they use?

It was also the 1st time in the history of the Viking Tour that the winner of the event bought himself for only $10 in the auction. $10 is the starting bid.
