I know there are alot of computer people in the CCB.I have a question. When you Norton Anti-Virus picks up a virus in an e-mail you recieve and you delete the message does the virus infect your computer?
The reason i ask is that i recieved 20 infected e-mails tonight supposedly from Microsoft, i didn't open any of them, just deleted them. I use Outlook Express if that helps with no preview pane.

Kent,
It's good you don't use the preview pane. However that doesn't mean your 100 percent safe. I got a virus tonight, Bug bear or something. I use AVG anti virus, it quarantined the critter and no problem, I just deleted it. I'm going to assume since Norton picked it up you won't have a problem either. Maybe other Norton Users can say for sure. If not you can always go to Symantec and check their website or FAQ.

Delete them all. Microsoft DOES NOT send updates via the e-mail.
If you have XP or Win 2K, go to this site and download the Stinger.http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
Scan your computer. Stinger kills some worm/viruses Norton doesn't sometimes catch.
Our network was hit hard today. We had to clean a ton of computers.
