View Full Version : What's your dream car?

10-23-2003, 08:54 AM
This comes pretty close. I like the '72 a little better though.

I've owned 4 Cutlasses but never a convertible. A 1970 Cutlass Supreme black over burgundy. A 1974 burgundy over white. A 1972 brown over cream. A 1970 Cutlass SX with a 455 Rocket navy over baby blue. I love the look, but needed something more dependable and could not afford to restore the SX.

This definitely lifts my skirt!

Barbara~~~removable hardtop... oh yeah...

EG, I own two.
One jet black and one apple red.
I even have the matching Harley with a Porshe design to go with them.
I swear.

10-23-2003, 09:42 AM
My favorite and I use to own one back in the late 70s, along with 3 AH Sprites. Two were bugeye.

10-23-2003, 09:45 AM
Yup I own one also, it sits on my desk at home. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Those Brit cars were cool if you could keep them running /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Little too small for me though /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif

My other car.

10-23-2003, 10:52 AM
There's no way I could drive an expensive car and be comfortable doing it. I'd be totally afraid of "the other guy". I've driven a beat up 1955 Chevy pickup, and "the other guy" steers totally clear of that!

I've owned my favorites: 1955 T-Bird and 1969 Mustang convertible, Candy Apple Red. I married into a darling 1967 Corvette convertible.

The Mustang was murdered, and we sold the other two to put me through school.

Hey Cueless, you could probably afford a pretty decent cue or two if you sold that car! /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif

10-23-2003, 12:35 PM
So it only takes $35K to lift up your skirt?!?

Every girl has her price! /ccboard/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Have a Look at http://www.ikaclub.com/CC62.jpg this car /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

10-23-2003, 12:53 PM
OOPs, I confused it with this car,

I owned one of these until someone liked it more than I. I was caught in between insurance coverage so I lost big time. A Palmer cue went with the car. /ccboard/images/graemlins/mad.gif I still have the title! Or as they say in Calif, the pink slip. /ccboard/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

10-23-2003, 12:58 PM
HAHAHAHA!!! Why the next time I see you... /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

That's always been one of my fave oldies, but I'm currently working my way to an Acura NSX.

However, my other half points out that his car costs more than what we paid for our house 17 years ago.

Problem solved - we move to a more expensive house! /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Barbara~~~will not be denied when it comes to fast red cars... /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's nice, too! Classic sports car looks.

I'm not too crazy about some of the BMW models, especially that weird car that looks like some kind of a mini station wagon. Yech!

This one's pretty cool!

10-23-2003, 04:26 PM
Ewwwwwwwwww!!! Eww! Eww! Eww!

Dude! I need to talk to you about sports cars. This is clearly a ripoff of the 1960 'Vette concerning the side details.

And besides, the link doesn't work, you have to copy and paste it into the address bar.

It's a Cream Sickle NIGHTMARE!!!!!

10-23-2003, 10:01 PM
Very sweet car. The only problem I have with it, is that you have spent at least 100k, and you are still only driving a Chevy. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif

10-23-2003, 11:47 PM
Spetty...did you wind up with my old '69 Mustang? Had turn signals built into the top of the hood? Was white till too many idiots managed to hit it. So had it painted candy apple red. 351 was put in just before I got it. Thing was fast enough to turn the rag top to real rags. Sold it to someone on the east cost.

Those were the good old days!

Oh my gosh. And I sold my MK IV for 2 grand around 1980! Course it was somewhat beat up.

Imo there is no doubt which car is the best:

10-24-2003, 06:28 AM
Hey eg8r, It may still only be a chevy, but it's one that goes 0-60 in about 3 sec. and has a top speed of 200 mph. /ccboard/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

And Steve,
Nice car BUT, "where would you put the bike?" /ccboard/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yup, I was giving you a hard time. I have a buddy here in town with a much LESS modified Linginfelter (sp?) vette. It started out as a regular vette and is a little peppier now. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif It beats his wife's Z06. It is a blast to ride in (I don't get to drive /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif ).

10-24-2003, 08:59 AM
Its a 1970 Plymouth Daytona Superbird...the fastest US production car to date. Out of the factory, this car "could" go 200 +!!! Ya'll can keep all the Linginfelters and Greenwoods, all the Foriegn stuff too...old American Muscle is my thing, HAHAHAHAHA!!

10-24-2003, 10:32 AM

Vooddo daddy might not understand but I think you will. I always wanted something like this.

10-24-2003, 10:52 AM
A friend of mine has spent the last 3 years doing a frame off restoration on a 1955 Corvette. It is absolutely amazing the attention to detail and research he's gone through. His car when complete will be one of a handfull that are completely original and perfect in every detail. When I asked him about approximate value he claimed that $100,000 would be about right.

10-24-2003, 08:28 PM
Barbara - I used to have a 1960 Corvette. Only mine was blue with cragar mags, L-50 tires, Hurst shifter, 1956 Vette rear taillights and bumperettes, 2" rear fender flares, L-88 hood, hi-rise maifold, but it didn't run worth a $hit. The motor was tired. I had it for 14 years. It definitely turned heads, but it needed time, money, and work, and I had none of the above. I also had a 1969 Harley Sportster as well. I wouldn't mind owning an AC Cobra with a 429 engine or a Duesenberg. That's going to extremes but...

DG - who wished he still had the vette and harley

VOODOOO DADDY!!!!!!!!!! Great minds think alike. Mine would be the 1970 Dodge Super Bird as you have pictured. Mine would have to be the 426 Hemi option though. Beleive it or not, this was the fastest production car in the world for many years. It would do 200mph+ right off the factory line and showroom floor. This car is also the reason Mopar had such a long haitus from NASCAR.

It's first year enetered in stock car racing in its first event at Daytona, all three cars finished 1-3. Ford and Chevy cried foul and thats when specs and restrictor plates and massive rules changes came about. In the good ole days of run what ya brung, nobody touched Mighty Mopar.

Incase anybody doubts Mopar's credibility in stck car racing, keep in mind Richard Petty won two thirds or better of his races in a Mopar before switching to Pontiac. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

1971 Hemi Cuda convertable. Only 14 were ever manufactured.

10-28-2003, 02:41 AM
Hey Stickman, you could surf on that thing. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gifIt would cost you $10 in gas just to get it to 60 mph.

10-28-2003, 05:25 AM
Actually, my dream car is a motorcycle. I'd like a tricked out Harley, complete with a gorgeous biker babe on the back. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If I ever become super-rich, this is the car I'd have to own:

1000 Bhp yeeehaw!! /ccboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

10-28-2003, 10:27 PM
A 69 Jaguar XKE V-12. The one with the BUBBLE TOP... but i will have to settle for anything that can get me from point a to point b and back again...lol.................mike

10-29-2003, 04:33 PM

My Mom's got a '66 XKE coupe but it's only a V6. but it does have the glass headlight covers that were banned from '67 on.

Only 60,0000 miles... Only driven betwee April and November...

Barbara~~~would rather have a V12 covertible...

10-29-2003, 04:35 PM

Quote Barbara:
My Mom's got a '66 XKE coupe but it's only a V6.

Barbara, I'm no car expert, but you may want to look under the hood. I believe the XKE's had a straight 6, with porcelin exhaust manifolds, IIRC.

I loved the XKE's.
I almost bought one, but the guy wouldn't take the $5, I had in my pocket at the time. /ccboard/images/graemlins/confused.gif

10-31-2003, 07:00 AM
Barbara - the XKE coupes are one of my favorites. A friend of mine demolished one when he had a little too much to drink.

DG - who could shoot him for this

10-31-2003, 07:55 AM
Well stay tuned to the classifieds. Mom hasn't driven the Jag in about ten years (bad knees - it's a stick) and it's been garaged ever since.

My one brother's trying to convince Dad to put it up on eBay.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to convince Mom it would make a nice BD present to her youngest daughter(moi) who devoted many a Saturday during her youth washing and waxing it.

Barbara~~~knows wax on, wax off... /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif

10-31-2003, 03:49 PM
Barbara - it's definitely out of my price range, but if you can give rides in it, I'll get on my knees and beg for one. Pretty Please!?!

DG - thinks they are one of the coolest cars, next to my '60 vette I used to have

10-31-2003, 04:01 PM
