this is kinda cool...

On September 7th, 2003, President Bush announced on national television that he was asking the Congress to grant him an additional $87 billion dollars for the next fiscal year, beginning October 1, to continue the fight on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But $87 billion is an impossibly high number for anyone to visualize. Let's have a look....

Sure is a lot of money. There should be some clarification about the breakdown of the monies being spent...(not that it matters the total is still an exorbitant amount), but only 20 billion roughly is going to Iraq and Ashcanistan. 10Billion of that is a loan and repayment is never mentioned when people talk about it. Why not? It does not matter right now, because it is going to be spent long before it is ever paid back (if ever). Bush does spend waaaayyyyy too much money.

Hell, maybe 20 yrs from now when democracy will be common in that area, everyone will look at this as a good investment. /ccboard/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Look at what Reagan did to Russia. /ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif
But 87 billion is a thousand million times 87. I think.
Freakin ey! That's probably more than the GNP of most countries.
