View Full Version : Just back from hospital

I just returned home from the ER after my dad had been taken by EMS earlier in the evening. His emphysema was acting up and his condition deteriorated rapidly enough that he went comatose for about six hours. He came back around about midnight. The hospital staff had just taken him to an intensive care room.

The ER doctor said his oxygen level in the blood stream was at 80%. This is about 18% lower than it should be. He has been on permanent oxygen for about two years now. I know he will be in for a while. This also compounded by a light stroke eslier this year and three heart attacks in years past.

Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. the doctors said had he not went, he would have passed in his sleep. He is in very bad shape. /ccboard/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Ralph,

Very sorry to hear about your dad. I have prayed for him. It is so hard when our parents are sick.

I think that as children our parents tell us they will always take care of us. When they are very sick, this is so hard.

I'm sorry to hear this Ralph. He's in my prayers. My pulse/ox is about 90 and normal is about 98. I know what it means to breath.

I would like to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers. It's nice to know one can count on their friends when things get off kilter. Just to let you all know he is completley out of the short term coma he fell into but is still in ICU and will be for atleast a week according to the doctors. How much longer he will be in the hospital after getting out of ICU, I dont know.
