    Re: Better 9-Ball rules?

Take the 'luck' out of 9 ball, and you'll lose half of the players that play it, the lower half. It will make it easier for the top half to win.

Think about how many play 9 ball as compared to...

    Re: Grip hand position

Now, back to the original topic. Having your grip hand forward of 90 degrees smacks of trying to guide the cue, and also trying to overcome having your upper arm and shoulder involved in the stroke....

    Re: Just the Stance please!

I am old school and this is the general basic stance.

    1) Feet just a little wider than your shoulders.
    2) Stand at a 45 degree angle to your cue.
    3) Turn your front foot slightly forward some....

    Re: Your jump/break tip?

I use a one piece phenolic ferrule and tip. I have 2 shafts for my break cue which is a J&J Break/jump cue. One has the white phenolic ferrule, and the other has the black phenolic ferrule.

    Re: Testing a cue

    My recommendations:
    1) Don't know what your budget is, but I would wait or spend about $500 to get a decent cue, and I would go to a cuemaker.
    2) Cuemakers will generally let you hit with 'stock'...

Re: Glove or no Glove, that is the question?

If you have a problem with your hands, by all means, wear a glove, I hate to shake cold clamy hands before or after a match, and consider it rude for a player to extend their hand out in that...
  7. Re: Questions regard a New Billiards Discussion Fo

Tom ... NO, I see nothing wrong with it, and many have done it in the past. Onepocket.org gets mentioned quite a bit on AZB, as well as TheActionReport forum.

Ultimately, it is the quality of...

    Re: J&J jump break cue

Yeah, I have one with an extra shaft, and I have bought one for my brother. (4 pointer - Palmwood). I like them, best bang for the buck. If you get one though, take off the bumper, put a couple...

    Re: Break follow through.

No matter how long you play this sport, you learn something everyday, or everytime you play it.

Sitting at home in my sweats the other night, about the 5th straight day and night in them, hadn't...

Re: Jump Shots vs Kick Shots

First, I can kick with the best of them up to 5-6 rails, and I first determine if I can really make the ball with a jump or a kick, next I consider which option will have the best leave if I fail to...

    Re: Cue case question/need advice

The best thing I think you could do is to email about 5 good Pool websites that carry what you want. List all the things you want to buy, Predator Cue, jump cue, case, etc..

    And let them make you...

Re: "Good shot!" - No, it was not...

Everyone can learn to make shots, not everyone can play shape well though. Pool is a building block process.

As 3 time World Champion Jimmy Caras told me once when I was 14: "Position is 70% of...

Re: predator bk2 break stick tip question

Yes, it is counter-productive, but some players can not master breaking with a phenolic tip because of their technique, so predator offers the option for a leather tip. Going to a leather tip, IMO,...

Re: Someone tell me how this is possible!

    Re: the offensive safety

Good idea, but you didn't take it far enough. A good player would bank the 5B to come off the long rail and knock the 8B over to the uptable end rail, and leave the cue ball behind the 3, maybe not...
