Libertarians, Tea Baggers and anti-Government Republicans - It is amusing how they carry on about how the US Revolution was all about a tax revolt.
Never a mention of the first line of the Declaration of Independence mentioning grievances against England and the king:
"He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good."
Or this one:
"He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands."
Only once does it mention taxes:
"For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent"
Our Constitution spells out what the Federal Government may do to raise revenue:
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense[note 1] and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.
I think the part where it says "general Welfare" is what really drives the selfish bastards up the wall!
This fat little pig and Tea Party asshat got paid during the shutdown. And you wonder why I blast these idiots so much? Grrrrrrr!!!! I bet he knows a lot about sacrifice, just look at how emaciated the poor thing is!
