Why does the main forum default to ascending order?

Why does the main forum default to ascending order?

Ascending order makes it look like everything on the main forum is old. And this discourages people from participating / posting.

All the other BD board forums default to descending order, so it's strange that either by error, or design, the main board...which is for actual pool / billiards discussion on a pool billiards website... discourages participation. Can you rectify this?

The method/action for sorting forum posts has been changed. Newer posts and threads will be display 1st in the list order. Thanks for the feedback and suggested changes.

With every post I get this message

    " Database error
The Billiards Digest Forums database has encountered a problem.
    Please try the following:
Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
Open the billiardsdigest.com home page, then try to open another page.
Click the Back button to try another link.
The billiardsdigest.com forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.

    We apologise for any inconvenience."

and then I have to repost but it then shows it as a double post although the post does show up.

We have noticed that this error is coming up when replying to posts. There is a problem in the database that will be fixed shortly.

Anytime you see that screen, your post was actually submitted, and you do not have to repost.

Just hit the "back" button in your browser, and then refresh the screen by hitting F5 or the Refresh button.

I think you can change the settings in your profile setting so that it's inversed.

Has anybody actually accomplished getting ascending order? If so, how? I must be blind cuz I don't see it selectable in my settings. It's a PITA like it is.
