Limbaugh Sounding Scared As He Admits Strength Of Boycott Groups (AUDIO)

Today, on the Rush Limbaugh Show, Rush finally acknowledged that the sponsor boycott groups, petitions and growing anti-Limbaugh social media groups are, indeed, negatively affecting his business, and he’s sounding a very angry and uneasy.

“When you look at a … show that is by far number 1, and they’re still running penile enhancement ads, what’s happening is that mainstream media buyers are sending money elsewhere, trying to harm them. Well, penile, take your pick,the Ronco Veg-o-matic, you know–while McDonald’s and Coke and Meineke are everywhere else.


These are things we had to overcome on this pro–we have to fight that battle every day here anyway. Cause these little sniveling jerks are out there trying to scare advertisers, still goes on.”

Most of these ‘sniveling jerks’ anti-Rush Limbaugh refers to, are consumer groups who emerged after his malicious on air verbal Sandra Fluke attack last year, when he called Fluke a ‘slut’ and ‘prostitute’. His three-day unrelenting rant was his way of trying to bully and silence Fluke, as she advocated for insurance covered birth control at a congressional hearing. At the time Fluke was an unknown Georgetown law student. Both mainstream and social media caught wind of Limbaugh’s blatant misogyny and the news spread like a wildfire. Online progressive news organization, Addicting Info, was the first to publish a Limbaugh Sponsor list. There was an initial exodus of about 100 sponsors who pulled ads, but many, including Legal Zoom, Quicken Loans, Sleep Number, Angie’s List and 1800 Flowers, returned to Limbaugh’s show. I imagine they thought the protest would die down. It did the opposite. The protest revved up and concerned consumers began to write, tweet, email, call and snail mail sponsors telling them the public would not buy products from companies that support Limbaugh’s misogyny, racism, and anti-gay bigotry. Some companies have remained loyal to Rush. Some of his true blue sponsors include Lifelock, Income At Home (Herbal Life), Lear Capitol, Regus and Ageless Male (Erectile Dysfunction)

One of the petitions out there makes it easy for consumers who don’t have as much time to send messages. You can simply sign the petition, and a message goes out to 30-40 Limbaugh sponsors at a time. Sign: Limbaugh Sponsor Petition .

Over 2,600 sponsoring companies, including large chains have pulled their ads from Limbaugh’s show. Consumers decided, since they couldn’t get his smut off the air via FCC, they would take matters into their own hands and went for the sponsor and lifeline purse strings of Limbaugh and his parent company, Clear Channel. (Clear channel is also the parent company to ‘hate radio’ shows including Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, in addition to Limaugh’s circus.) After AddictingInfo.com published their sponsor list, other groups began more lists. The StopRush Database on StopRush.net is the most extensive list of sponsors containing hundreds of sponorss along with links to their Facebook pages, twitter addresses, email address, phone numbers, web contact forms and street addresses Thousands of volunteers monitor Limbaugh’s show via Dar.fm which offers free audio recordings of his entire show. Monitors fast forward through his smut to get to the ads, and report them to groups like Flush Rush Fight Group and Boycott Rush Limbaugh To Shut Him Down. Those groups then begin contacting the sponsors. Anyone can go to one of these groups, hit a sponsor contact link, leave a few sentences and know they are doing something for the cause – something to reduce the hate on public radio, while sending a clear message to Limbaugh, Clear Channel and the media in general – “Enough!”

Rush Limbaugh has been spewing hate three hours a day, five days a week, for decades, spreading racism, misogyny and anti-gay bigotry. Fortunately groups working against him continue on as well, gaining in numbers daily. Boycott-Rush-Limbaughs-Sponsors-to-SHUT-HIM-DOWN now has over 53,700 followers that are contacting sponsors daily. Thousands of sponsors have pulled ads from his show since the protests and boycotts began.
