Student 'accidentally' shot by school employee in Aurora, Colorado





A student at Rangeview High School in
Aurora, Colorado was accidentally shot Monday afternoon by a school employee.

According to the local NBC affiliate, a student was getting a ride home after school by the school employee when the employee's gun accidentally went off. The employee, who is not a teacher, was moving his gun to the glove compartment when it went off and bullet hit the student's leg.

While the student is expected to survive, the Aurora police called the leg injury "significant."

The school employee has a second job as a security offer and it's unknown whether he will face charges.

Aurora, CO is the same town where James Holmes is accused of opening fire in a movie theater during a screening of the Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises." Twelve people were killed in the shooting and Holmes could face life in prison if convicted.
