EPIC! Sarah Palin Shredded, Called America’s ‘Resident Dunce’ by Normally Mild-Mannered Bashir (Video)

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir is normally a pretty docile, mild-mannered guy on his show, so when he visibly was upset while discussing Sarah Palin (R-Moose) during his Friday afternoon show, you knew he meant business.

As you may have heard, Palin compared the national debt to slavery earlier this week.

Of course, Palin claims that her use of the word “slavery” was not implying *that* kind of slavery. But according to her own definition of the word, she was.

In an interview with Jake Tapper, she was asked if people might misinterpret her use of the word. Here was her response:

"There is another definition of slavery and that is being beholden to some kind of master that is not of your choosing. And, yes, the national debt will be like slavery when the note comes due"

Um, maybe I misunderstood my history books, but did slaves in this country choose their masters? Funny, I thought it was the other way around. They must teach a different kind of history in the schools that Sarah Palin attended.

Anyway, Bashir came out with both barrels blazing at Palin, first calling her America’s “resident dunce” and describing her comments as “scraping the barrel of her long-deceased mind, and using her all-time favorite analogy in an attempt to sound intelligent about the national debt.”

He then played the clip of Palin as she made her inane comment to a doting crowd at the Faith and Coalition Event in Iowa.

"Our free stuff today is being paid for by taking money from our children, and borrowing from China. When that note comes due — and this isn’t racist, so try it. Try it anyway. This isn’t racist. But it’s going to be like slavery when that note is due"

“It will be like slavery,” Bashir repeated. “Given her well-established reputation as a world class idiot, it’s hardly surprising that she should choose to mention slavery in a way that is abominable to anyone who knows anything about its barbaric history.”

Bashir then discussed the barbaric history of slavery, specifically a first-person account from a man named Thomas Thistlewood, who kept a diary about the horrible treatment and discipline of the slaves he and his family owned. Bashir says, “In 1756, he records that a slave named Darby ‘catched eating kanes had him well flogged and pickled, then made Hector, another slave, s-h-*-t in his mouth.’”

Bashir concluded by saying, “When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance. She confirms if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, she would be the outstanding candidate.”

In other words, Palin deserves to have her mouth s-*-*-t in.

BOOM! Roasted.
