Turning Down Shaft Question...

This maybe a lame question, but I never had this procedure down to my equipment before so i figured I would ask first.

My shaft is the standard 13mm and I wanted to get it slimmed down to about 12.75 or 12.50. When this process is done, is the ferrule and tip totally replaced or do they just shave it down as well???

They are sanded with the shaft. A good cue repair shop can do it for 20 to 40 dollars. You may want to replace the tip just to be safe. Ask the repair person.

I would be real careful about doing this, your shaft could get real limber just depends on the wood , then you might not like the deflection.Just cause one shaft feels good that small doesn't mean the next one will.

And yes, the entire shaft gets reduced in diameter. This includes the tip AND the ferrule.

So no need for a new tip or a new ferrule.

Thanks Guys, I think im just gonna pass on the process for now and see how things go, My pocketing is already more consistant anyway now with the new cue, so "why fix something the ain't broken?" [img]/ccboard/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
