Amway Cup Continues

At the start of day three of the Amway Cup, being held May 6-9 in downtown Taipei, Taiwan, most of the twelve-woman field has played four matches in the round-robin format, though a few have completed the full five matches in their division. The top three from each division will advance into a single-elimination bracket.

In division A, Shin-Mei Liu has three wins and one loss; Karen Corr has two wins and two losses; Ga-Young Kim has one win and three losses; Shu-Han Chang has two wins and two losses; Jennifer Barretta has two wins and three losses; and Jasmin Ouschan has two wins and two losses.

In division B, Jeanette Lee has one win and three losses; Allison Fisher has three wins and one loss; Jennifer Chen has three wins and one loss; Yuan-Chun Lin has two wins and two losses; Wendy Jans has three wins and two losses; and Akimi Kajitani has zero wins and four losses.

Kajitani is the only competitor with no wins so far; there are no players who have not taken a loss. The round-robin phase continues into the afternoon, with quarterfinals beginning at 2:30, Taipei time. The playoff for third place and the final are slated for Monday night. The entire event is being broadcast live on the Videoland Television channel (Ch 72) in Taiwan.
