Wheelchair Finals to Air on ESPN
Aug 2, 2004, 4:43 PM

In a coup for the 2004 National 8-Ball and 9-Ball Wheelchair Championships, cable sports giant ESPN has agreed to televise two finals from the tournament later this fall.

The championships will be held Sept. 21-25 at The Playing Field in Richmond, Va. The finals of the 9-ball tournament and the scotch-doubles 9-ball event (teaming the 8-ball and 9-ball winners with Loree Jon Jones and Vivian Villarreal of the Women’s Professional Billiard Association) will be taped for later broadcast by ESPN. The dates are still to be determined.

The tournament will be staged by the National Wheelchair PoolPlayers Association. Sixty-four NWPA players will be invited to participate in the event.
