The Billiard Congress of America has regretfully announced the passing of Hall-of-Famer Arthur “Babe” Cranfield, 89.

Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Cranfield won the New York City and National Junior titles at age 15, breaking previous high-run records, and was the National Amateur champion in 1938 and 1940.
