A fall huricane has once again disrupted a professional 9-ball championship, only this time it was the lady pros who've suffered the hardship.

Hurricane Frances, which is punishing Florida this Labor Day holiday weekend has forced the Women's Professional Billiard Association to postpone its Cuetec Cues Florida Open, slated for Sept 8-12 at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fla.

The WPBA announced that it was cancelling next week's event, and hopes to make up the tournament later in the year. The WPBA is looking into the first week of December as a possibility, but hasn't committed to the dates.

Hurricanes have impacted the U.S. Open 9-Ball Championship in Chesapeake, Va., twice in the last four years. The U.S. Open begins tomorrow.
