Lee and husband, George Breedlove, adopted a baby girl in 2004.

The upshot of the new long-term focus on marketing is that Lee now spends more time at home in Mooresville, Ind., with her husband, George Breedlove, and their 3-year-old adopted daughter, Cheyenne. The couple also recently adopted a teenage son, John Kang, to assist family friends.

Lee still feels the pull of motherhood, and would like to adopt as many as three more children in the next five years. (Previous attempts at pregnancy and have been unsuccessful, and Lee's physical limitations would make any pregnancy problematic.)

The greater focus on family makes long-term, self-sustaining marketing deals an even greater priority. Lee would like to continue developing the Jeanette Lee Experience, a fantasy-camp of sorts for pool fans. The Black Widow billiard clubs could provide a steady stream of income, either through licensing or ownership.

George sees a day when Lee is a regular broadcasting personality outside of billiards - say, a commentator, or appearing on a talk show like "The View." She has taken steps to acquire those skills, co-hosting the "2006 ESPY Awards Red Carpet Special," and agreeing to a current two-year appearance-and-airtime deal with ESPN in which she has done sideline reporting from a pro bowling event.

Along those lines, Octagon has pitched Lee for film roles and tried to find the right fit with reality TV shows. A success in that arena could amount to a career-cementing breakthrough. Meanwhile, George will continue to grow the Black Widow brand, one deal at a time.

"We're going to keep throwing pebbles on the pile, and we're going to look for the big play," George says. "We have the resources and the size and the experience. The most important part: We have the goods. You have to have the goods, and Jeanette Lee has the goods."
